Edmonton Optometrist
Dr. Matt Sobolewski
Dr. Matt is a drone-flying, guitar-playing, golf-swinging, trail-running, hot sauce connoisseur. He has nearly 20 best friends and proudly calls Edmonton home. If you spot him and his other best friend, Millie the dog, on the trails at Laurier Dog Park, be sure to say hello!
Matt earned his double major in Biological Sciences and Physical Sciences from the University of Alberta in 2012 before completing his Doctor of Optometry degree with distinction at Pacific University College of Optometry. During his time at Pacific, he served on the Curriculum Committee, the Admissions Committee, and as a student ambassador.
As an optometrist, Dr. Matt takes a keen interest in myopia control, an evolving area of eye care that helps slow nearsightedness progression in children. By using prescription eye drops or specialty contact lenses, he helps young patients maintain clear, comfortable vision while reducing how often their glasses need to be updated.
Dr. Matt is fully licensed to diagnose and manage eye conditions using both oral and topical therapies. He has a special interest in diabetic eye disease, as diabetes is one of the leading causes of preventable vision loss in Canada. He believes that eye health is just one part of overall wellness and works closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure his patients receive the best possible care.
