Stellest® lenses do more than help your child see clearly. They're designed to help keep their nearsightedness from getting worse as quickly.
Unlike regular eyeglasses that only correct blurry vision, Essilor® Stellest® lenses provide clear everyday vision while also helping slow the progression of childhood myopia.
They work using Essilor's H.A.L.T. technology, which surrounds a clear central viewing area with 1,021 tiny lenslets. These create a special myopia-control signal that helps slow excessive eye growth while your child continues to see clearly through the centre of the lens.
The goal is simple: clear vision today, with less myopia progression for the future.
Who Is a Good Candidate for Stellest® Lenses?
Stellest lenses can be an excellent option for children whose nearsightedness is increasing, particularly during the years when their eyes are growing most rapidly.
We may recommend Stellest when a child's prescription is progressing, there is a family history of myopia, or other factors suggest an increased risk of developing higher myopia.
They're also a convenient option for children and families who prefer eyeglasses rather than contact lenses or prescription eye drops.

The price includes Airwear® 1.59 polycarbonate lenses—a lightweight, impact-resistant material ideal for children—plus Crizal® Rock coating for enhanced scratch resistance, reduced glare, easier cleaning and UV protection.
Frames are additional, so you can choose the style, fit and price that works best for your child.
Many extended health plans provide coverage for prescription eyeglass lenses, and Helio Optometry can direct bill most major insurance providers.
Already have a prescription? Outside prescriptions are always welcome—no appointment necessary.
What Happens During a Myopia Control Assessment & Follow-Up?
We start by determining how your child's vision and prescription are changing and assessing their risk of further myopia progression.
Your optometrist will review the available treatment options and recommend an approach based on your child's individual needs. Treatment may include Stellest eyeglasses, other myopia-control eyeglass lenses, MiSight® contact lenses, atropine eye drops or, in some cases, a combination of treatments.
Children undergoing myopia management are typically monitored regularly so we can determine whether treatment is producing the desired result and make adjustments when necessary, usually every 6-months.

Do Stellest® Lenses Stop Myopia Progression?
Stellest® lenses are designed to slow the progression of myopia (nearsightedness) in children. They don't cure myopia or reverse an existing prescription, but they can help reduce how quickly a child's nearsightedness gets worse.
Every child responds differently, so regular monitoring is an important part of treatment. We typically see children every 6 months to check their prescription and eye growth and make sure we're getting the results we want.
If myopia continues to progress faster than expected, our optometrists may recommend adjusting the treatment plan. In some cases, Stellest lenses can be combined with another myopia-control treatment, such as atropine eye drops or MiSight® contact lenses.
Our goal is simple: find the most effective treatment for your child and help keep their myopia as low as possible as they grow.
Are There Any Side Effects or Risks With Stellest® Lenses?
Stellest® lenses are generally well tolerated, but as with any specialized eyeglass lens, some children may need a short period of time to adjust.
Initially, some children may notice mild blur, visual discomfort or headaches. These symptoms are usually temporary and improve as they become accustomed to their new glasses. Proper frame fit is also important—if the glasses sit too high, too low or slide down the nose, the lenses may need to be repositioned or adjusted.
Older teenagers may be more aware of peripheral blur, particularly during sports or nighttime driving. For this reason, we generally recommend discussing driving with your optometrist before using Stellest lenses behind the wheel. An alternative myopia-control treatment may be more appropriate for some teens.
The other consideration is that not every child responds equally to myopia-control treatment. Myopia may continue to progress despite wearing Stellest lenses, which is why we typically monitor children every six months.
If your child's myopia isn't responding as expected or they're having difficulty adapting to the lenses, our optometrists can adjust their treatment plan or recommend another myopia-control option.
